%X The great dynamics of the coastal zone is associated to natural processes, such as anthropic that accelerate and emphasize the effects of erosion. The area of study of this project consists in the NE portion of Ilha Comprida, located in the Cananéia - Iguape lagoon region, São Paulo coast. This area has large indices of erosion that were intensified by anthropic actions, in this case the opening of the artificial channel Vale Grande in 1852, which connects Ribeira de Iguape River to the Mar Pequeno sea. In this scenario, it is evidenced the necessity of monitoring, considering the site''s high dynamic. The objective of this work is to evaluate the use of GNSS data for monitoring the coastal dynamics, applying the method on the NE portion of Ilha Comprida - SP. The data used on the research were collected in 5 fields in the years of 2015 and 2016, a GNSS receptor provided data acquired every one second of the vegetation line on the sand track. Through this data, there was obtained the propagation velocity vector of the island to NE. After the analyses of the vegetation line, it was concluded that the use of GNSS data is needed and through it is possible to do costal dynamics analysis, not only for determining the velocity vector, but also other related demands.
